Le film dénonce aussi la complicité passive voire la « protection » dont a bénéficié Gabriel Matzneff auprès du « milieu intellectuel parisien », alors qu'il s'affichait ouvertement comme pédophile dans ses ouvrages et dans les médias.
Il s'agit de l'adaptation cinématographique du livre éponyme de Vanessa Springora.

In 2020 Mayfair released a re-worked version of the film called Between Shadow and Soul. The re-worked film used the same footage from the original shoot but reconfigured in black and white and with no dialogue and a new soundtrack

Film však sleduje nejen jejich osudy, problémy a pocity a chování v různých životních situacích, jejich lásky a nelásky, omyly a usmiřování. While shooting the movie Kaurismäki tried to minimize its and the crew's effect on the environment by choosing equipment that would have the least impact the shooting location, the surrounding areas, and its inhabitants.
Widowed and broke Finnish businessman Kari takes his two teenage daughters with him to Brazil. A bush pilot introduces him to the idea of gold mining in the jungle, but a beautiful and educated local woman warns him about the possible consequences to the rain forest. Giuseppe commits to love a woman he hasn't seen in 15 years, amid dangers of seduction from her daughter.
A middle-age man returns from France to his hometown in Sicily where he begins an affair with his former sweetheart, who is now a widow. He just can't resist the women's teenage daughter, however (or the daughter's curious best friend). Although this was based on an Italian novel called "Graziella", it is obviously also very much modeled after the classic Vladimir Nabokov novel "Lolita", even containing a variation on the sofa seduction that has been left out of both of the prudish Americ adaptations of that novel.

  Black Bread (Catalan: Pa negre) is a 2010 Catalan-language Spanish drama film written and directed by Agustí Villaronga. The screenplay is based on the homonymous novel by Emili Teixidor, with elements of two other works by him, Retrat d'un assassí d'ocells and Sic transit Gloria Swanson.
The film won thirteen Gaudí Awards, nine Goya Awards, including best film, best director and best adapted screenplay. It was selected as the Spanish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards being the first Catalan-language film to do so.
In the harsh post-war years' Catalan countryside, Andreu, a child that belongs to the losing side, finds the corpses of a man and his son in the forest. The authorities want his father to be made responsible of the deaths, but Andreu tries to help his father by finding out who truly killed them. In this search, Andreu develops a moral consciousness against a world of adults fed by lies. In order to survive, he betrays his own roots and ends up finding out the monster that lives within him.

EN. Garasu no Usagi (ガラスのうさぎ, The Glass Rabbit) is a Japanese autobiographical novel by Toshiko Takagi, who lost her sister and mother in the Great Tokyo Air Raid and saw her father killed by P-51 Mustang before her eyes at Ninomiya Station when she was 13 years old. As of 2018, the original novel has sold more than 2.4 million copies in Japan. It was translated into German, Spanish, Hungarian and other languages. It was adapted into a live action film in 1979, a Japanese television drama series in 1980 and an anime film in 2005.
The live action film, titled Tokyo Air Raid Glass Rabbit (東京大空襲　ガラスのうさぎ), is directed by Yūten Tachibana and was released on July 14, 1979.

 Shadows of Time (German: Schatten der Zeit, Bangla: সময়ের প্রতিচ্ছবি) is a 2004 Bengali language German romance film directed by Florian Gallenberger in his directorial debut. Filmed in Calcutta, India, the film stars Prashant Narayanan, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Irrfan Khan and Tillotama Shome.
Ravi has settled in his dreary fate as indented boy-laborer in a textile plant outside Calcutta, making sure he earns and saves more then other boys to buy his release. Yet when young, naive Masha is sold into service by her debt-crushed father, Ravi falls in love with her and rather the see her sold as private all-purposes servant, spends his savings on her release. They agree to meet in Calcutta's largest Shiva temple once he's free. Being the captive of his own skill, that takes years, while she becomes a brothel's star. Ravi arrives as a man, and unable to find her accepts to become an old carpet trader's brilliant right hand and near-fiancé of his beloved granddaughter Deepa. Fate makes her marry affluent customs official Yani and Ravi re-orphaned Deepa before the true lovers meet again.

 IT. Lisa è una ragazza emancipata che ama la compagnia dei suoi amici hippy ed i party spensierati con la chitarra. Il papà Marco ha una mentalità opposta alla figlia: mentre lei non distingue gli amici in base alle condizioni sociali, egli detiene un posto nella ricca borghesia industriale e guarda con discriminazione la gioventù degli hippy, che dice "piena di poveracci".
Lisa ha solo sedici anni e si innamora di un hippy povero ma bello: Robert, di diciannove anni: prova a presentarlo ai genitori, e come prevedibile le viene imposto di non frequentarlo più, con la scusa della maggiore età: lui è maggiorenne e lei no. Allora i due innamorati si sentono vittime ed iniziano a vedersi di nascosto. Un giorno intraprendono una gita in barca a vela all'insaputa del padre di Lisa; però il viaggio finisce con loro che si allontanano troppo e fanno naufragio. Tuttavia si salvano su un'isola deserta, dove si sentono finalmente liberi di inoltrarsi nella natura e amarsi.
